Charles Cascarilla is the CEO and co-founder of Paxos. With over 15 years of experience in financial services, Charles has a unique perspective on integrating blockchain technology with traditional systems. He co-founded institutional asset management complex Cedar Hill Capital Partners in 2005 and its venture capital subsidiary, Liberty City Ventures, in 2012. Earlier in his career, Charles was a portfolio manager at Claiborne Capital and worked at both Bank of America Securities and Goldman Sachs. He serves on the board of several charities and private companies including Project ALS and The Centurion Foundation. Charles holds a B.B.A. in Finance from the University of Notre Dame and is a CFA charterholder.
Andrew Chang is the COO of Paxos. He has over a decade of operational experience at technology companies and startups, and is a partner at seed fund Liberty City Ventures. Before joining Paxos, Andrew served as a Lead Strategic Partner Development Manager at Google, working in business development for display ad products. Prior to that, he was the COO of ConditionOne and an associate at TechStars New York. He also has experience managing delivery at WPP-owned Kantar Video and innovation in research, analytics and digital media at 360i, a digital marketing agency. Andrew earned his MBA from New York University’s Leonard N. Stern School of Business and a B.S. in Operations and Technology Management from Boston College.
Rachel Nelson is the Associate General Counsel and Chief Compliance Officer at Paxos. Rachel joined Paxos from JPMorgan Chase, where she was an Assistant General Counsel advising on electronic banking and cash clearance and settlement. Earlier in her career, she worked as counsel at Wilmer, Cutler, Pickering, Hale and Dorr in New York and as an associate at Sullivan & Cromwell in London. Rachel received her B.A. in International Relations from Stanford University and her J.D. from the University of Pennsylvania Law School.
Rajesh Nair is VP of Engineering at Paxos. He has over 15 years of experience working at both financial services and silicon valley technology companies. Prior to joining Paxos, Raj was Chief Architect on the trading system and enterprise data hub at BlackRock. He has an extensive background in large scale platform engineering and a passion for building distributed systems. Raj earned his BS in Mechanical Engineering from College Of Engineering Pune, India.
Bharath Jayaraman is VP of People at Paxos. He has over 15 years of experience partnering with leaders and employees in tech firms on people, talent and culture. His experience working for Google, Amazon, Facebook and most recently, Outcome Health, spans across the US, Asia and Europe. He has a passion for helping organizations make great people decisions using data. Bharath has a Masters in Business and Industrial/Labor Relations from Cornell University
As the Director of Talent Development, Marisa focuses on the creation and execution of foundational people mechanisms that impact our culture, our employees and ultimately, our business. Since joining Paxos, Marisa has overseen the company's growth while scaling its uniquely ambitious and mindful culture. Prior to joining Paxos, Marisa served as an Executive Recruiter at BlackRock and an Executive Recruiter at JPMorgan Private Bank. She holds an MBA in Human Resource Management from Pace University.
Thomas Eagan is EVP and Global Head of the Securities Business at Paxos. With 20+ years of experience in financial services, Tom has a broad and deep understanding of capital markets products, processes and market infrastructure. Tom joins from JPMorgan, where he was a Managing Director and the accountable executive for the firm's liquidity risk management build-out and then led the Corporate and Investment Bank's strategic investments in market infrastructure solutions. Previously, Tom was a Managing Director at Credit Suisse and a Partner at PwC. Tom has an MBA from Columbia University and a B.B.A. in Finance and Economics from the University of Cincinnati.
Seth M Phillips is Executive Director and leads Paxos' precious metals initiatives. In this capacity, Seth is responsible for Paxos' precious metals business and oversees P&L responsibilities for the London office. Seth has spent his career building, operating and financing enterprise technology companies. He sold his first business while at university at Brigham Young University. After graduation, Seth sold another enterprise software company before pursuing an MBA from Columbia University and spending a year investing venture capital in fintech companies. Seth became inspired by blockchain technology in 2013 and wrote his master's thesis on the application of blockchain in capital markets.
